Kimberly has been in banking for 15 years, 13 of which have been in compliance. At Synovus, she oversees and provides strategic direction for the compliance management program to include control exams, first line of defense self-testing, second line of defense validation, and the consumer compliance risk assessment. She directs the annual control exam schedule to ensure all lines of business are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies / procedures. In addition, she also directs the enterprise wide first line of defense self-testing program whereby line of business self-testing results are submitted to Corporate Compliance for validation. Monitoring and tracking deficiencies identified in control exams and validations completed are also part of her responsibilities. On a regular basis, she facilitates ongoing administration of the consumer compliance risk assessment to gather input from the first line of defense to assess inherent risk, control adequacy, and residual risk. She partners with various stakeholders for product, program, and system developments. She also serves as the flood subject matter expert for the bank. Prior to Synovus, Kimberly held various roles at the Bank of Hiawassee. Education achievements include a Bachelor of Business Administration (double major in Management & Marketing) from North Georgia College & State University; Master of Business Administration from Bryan College; and CRCM Certification.
